Yellow and Black Strips on Edge W/ Insert Bowl

Individually cut narrow strips of black, yellow, and clear are alternately placed cut side up and tightly supported to maintain their shape when fired to 1425°.
The resulting large striped slab with the use of a tile saw is sliced at varying widths and these segments arranged to reconfigure the design creating directional pattern and interest.
Additional fragments of these colors were shattered into small pieces and fired to make a solid blank.  A tile saw was used to straighten the edges shaping this into the square for the center insert.
