Large Bowl with Adventurine Blue Clear Streaky Strips

Strips of a patterned glass of clear with splashes of adventurine blue, a 17th century technique developed on Murano Island by Venice, distinguished by its special look of sparkles inside translucent glass are cut then equally spaced over a base layer of clear glass. This is covered with more clear glass which when brought to a full fuse temperature of 1450° in the kiln fills in the valleys creating a smooth and glossy surface.
If placed in the path of light, the adventurine blue glistens.
Returned to the kiln on a mold for an additional firing the deep bowl shape is formed.
