Jerusalem

$250.00Price

Intended either as a window/wall hanging or for display on a shelf
This is an artistic representation of two of the most iconic landmarks in the city of Jerusalem.
The Montefiore Windmill was erected in 1857 on the western slopes across from the walls encompassing the Old City built as a flour mill intended to process local grain and provide employment in what was becoming the center of the first residential neighborhood outside of the Old City walls.
The building code throughout Jerusalem is strictly regulated so the familiar white limestone is uniformly seen throughout, but nowhere more recognizable than those of the remaining remnants of the western wall of the Second Temple.
Holes were drilled and a decorative wire inserted to hang this either in a window or on a wall.
If preferred, contact me and I would be pleased to make with for you without the holes to be able to place in a display stand or on a shelf or table or you could also have it framed.
It can be ordered without the holes but if holes are preferred, they must be drilled prior to firing as the heat of the kiln nicely smooths the raw edge providing a more finished
appearance.
