Hamsa

Different cultures attribute different meanings to the well-known hamsa symbol but a common thread is as a protective sign bringing happiness, health and food fortune.
Related to Judaism, the word itself hamsa is derived from the Hebrew word for the number 5, hamesh. the five fingers of the hand which represent the five books of the Torah, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. These were the words that G-d is believed to have spoken to Moses, while he was on top of a mountain for 40 days and 40 nights.
